Breath
The computer light is blinking.
The fan in the AC unit is spinning its white noise.
The minutes pass.
I close my eyes.
The void in mmy mind feels larger and my breathing grows inconsistent. My senses heighten and suddenly the fan is no longer white noise. It's growing, overwhelming, and then all the sounds in the room blur into one and the bones in my body are limp and my muscles are no longer strong, they are weak and I am weak. I am slumped in my chair and I do not see a way to get out of this. I see only the void, I hear only the overwhelming blur, and I feel nothing.
The minutes stretch into hours to days to years and I am still here, decaying in this office chair.
I open my eyes.
The computer light is blinking.
The fan in the AC unit is spinning its white noise.
I breath.
The minutes pass.
